Today is a wonderful morning and I think I had the best sleep since I can't even remember when. I only received about 6 hours but it felt really good. Today embarks day 4 for my journey and so far so good. I found a wonderful website that provided all these awesome recipes Basic Juice Recipes and Top 10 healthy drinks I just wanted to make note of those sites for future use.
Anyway, last night I went to my local market looking for the nut milk bag but they did not sell it. The nut milk back can be used to make your own juices without a blender or making milk out of nuts. In any case I ordered it online.
I was so excited about making some almond milk. I'm not sure if I'm suppose to drink nut milk while doing my feast but I did anyhow. It's a juice so I did not expect any difference in my body. By the way this is my first time ever making nut milk. I saw the recipe online and thought what the heck this is cool. Especially for someone like me who is lactose intolerant. While at the store I purchased some almonds and used a strainer I have here at home. For those of you not familiar with nut milk. I will share with you the instructions I found online.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE NUT MILK:
1. Nuts Wholesale Nuts(you can you any type of nut but in my case I purchased almond)
2. Nut Milk Bag ( you can also you a paint strainer if you prefer as though it's more cost efficient )
3. A Good Blender (you don't have to have a powerful blender such as vitamix or blendtec but they do work best) I don't have a really expensive blender but I must say my blender is better than many of those very cheap blenders. It took me about 2 minutes to blend my nuts to a good consistency.
4. **Optional Items** Agave, Honey or Dates to make your nut milk sweet. You can also use Vanilla or Cinnamon for flavor ( I found that the drink taste perfectly without the additives)
INSTRUCTIONS AND DIRECTIONS:
1. Some prefer to soak their nuts for several hours to remove the enzymes inside the nuts. However, I did not soak my nuts. That sounds so funny... I did not soak my nuts. Ha Ha.
2. Add 1 cup of your preferred nuts to your blender.
3. Add 2 cups of water
4. Blend the water and nuts until you stop hearing the clicking of the nuts or until your nuts a puree fine.
5. Put your nut milk bag over your bowl/container you will use for straining. Then you basically pour the mix of the blender into the nut milk bag. After which you slowly squeeze all the juices from the bag.
6. You should now have a beautiful white milk. At this point you can add your additives and blend in your blender to mix it up well.
Those are the directions I used. The entire process took me about 10 minutes including cleanup. I will post a really nice video I found online to help you out.
Ok. It's 10:39am and I have not had my breakfast juice yet. I did drink 32 oz of water as I stated I would in my previous post.
Today I decided for a basic juice recipe I saw online. I am going to call it my "Orange Machine" it' will contain 4 oranges, 2 carrots and 2" chuck of ginger. By the way ginger is good but it does have a strong taste I suggest to use it in moderation.
Peace, Love and Happiness
I'm outro...
